Will discreet graphic card have video at first boot on mobo with onboard graphics?

I'm going to be building a Haswell system in the near future and it will have a discreet graphics card. During the first boot of the system will I have video on the discreet card or do I have to use the onboard graphics until I can modify the bios settings?

sandy and ivy did. I would think so would haswell.

either one will get you into the bios.

My 1st boot went fine using a 7870 on a z87 mb. You shouldn't have any issues.
