Will direct X work with win2K

I couldn't get directX 7 to install in win2K if you can't install directX what do you.

win2k comes with DX7
but you can get dx8 for win2k off of microsofts site too

Win2K comes with Directx 7a, go to MS DirectX Homepage and download DirectX 8.

Direct X 8 is not that good, for instance in NHL 2001 you cannot ALT + ESC out of the game to get back to windoes. So once you install DX 8 make sure you really want to, cause there is not uninstalling it. If you want to uninstall it, then you have to reload the operating system.

I noticed that I could no longer Ctrl-Alt back to the desktop in UT, but I didn't pin it on DirectX 8. MMMMMmmmmmmmmmm.
