Most of you are probably wondering, WTF is proposal 3? Proposal 3 is for non-partisan elections, and with that, no party primaries. Democrats are handing out tons of flyers at all the subway stations and putting them under everyone's door saying that this proposal is there only because Mayor Bloomberg wants it to protect him as an incumbent.
While they might have a point that this will add to their usual party disorganization and inability to back a single candidate before they absolutely have to, I think (hope?) the general public realizes that both parties suck, and non-partisan elections are pretty obviously a good thing. If anything, I think maybe putting their party name behind the ads against this will lessen support for them in general.
