Will DDR2-533 work 1:1 with Athlon II 240?

I can't seem to find an answer. Does athlon II 240 run 1:1 at 533 or 800 when using DDR2?

It has a 200MHz FSB so I think you only need DDR2-400 to run 1:1. Don't quote me on that. But getting faster RAM can have better timings.

I have a spare computer with the Athlon II X2 240 as well, and I know DDR2-533 and DDR2-800 both work on it, since I tried both. I would stick with the faster ram though.

AMD does not have a FSB, & there is no such thing as 1:1 on AMD systems ever since they came out with the on-die memory controller CPUs.

CPU-Z might call something 1:1, but that's misleading, as their on-die memory controller does not work the same way a FSB works.

DDR2-800 would be the better choice.

For the record, his BIOS may have a setting called 1:1 or DDR2-400 which should set his memory speed to (or close to) DDR2-xxx where xxx equals twice his HTT speed. But yeah, the actual memory speed calculations on AMD systems are a bit more complicated than that.
