Will DAoC Being Closing?

I used to be a big fan of >DAoC< >Dark Age of Camelot<, and only bout 200 active everyday no-life people still playing, with Mythic's WAR coming, has everyone stopped playing DAoC till WAR comes? Will it stop producing? im not sure...

DAoC was my first MMO so I have very fond memories of it. I never played as hardcore as other people (only got to level 43 with one character) but the whole way they did PvP (Realm vs Realm) was truly fantastic. I'd be sad to see it go even though I havent played in years, but Warhammer looks really good.

DAOC only has 200 people?! Are you sure? Everquest still has more than that.

DAOC was the first MMORPG that really hooked me, loved the RVR and the FFA Mordred Server, then TOA came out and ruined the game 🙁

oddle--I never played DAoC, i think it was becuase I was too young at the time, and did not have a job....and was playing D2 LOD for free 😛

It will be a sad day when the DAoC servers go offline. I really enjoyed DAoC's PVP system. I stopped playing after the Catacombs expansion and moved over to WoW. Most of my guild and friends either quit cold turkey or left for WoW. I was just looking at the site and noticed they released two more expansions and canned a ton of servers. I used to play an Alb on Guinevere.

I loved DAOC, first MMO i played to. Played a RR11 animist called Heartspark on hib/bors for about 5 years. Was first animist to get Lone Enforcer title! oh good times.

I only quit cause everyone went to WoW when it came out, im mean literally all the major guilds just vanished. 🙁

Looking forwards to Warhammer online.

as long as they have paying customers, they'll keep it alive. They may reduce the # of servers, to consolidate, however their only real cost of supporting it is the power to keep the servers on.

Ahh yes Hib Bors, home to mee, cee, Bumbos inc, ect. Some damn good players. Luckily on the mid side we had some good players but also numbers.

I ran with Torment for awhile before quitting. Hammer Warrior. Snared people for our killer savage named "Unbelievable".

Mythic has been saying for years they wont close DAoC until the last person leaves. My guess is some time after WAR launches, and assuming its a relatively good success, you'll see a announcement its no longer in EA/Mythic's interest to keep their DAoC servers going. Then again they may keep them up for the few still playing but just no longer provide support.
