Will CUSL2 accept 2pcs 256MB PC133?

I would bet its a dead CPU. It could be the case or power supply. Reminds me a of a problem I had where it ended up being a bad power button on the case, it was stuck in. I hooked up the reset sw to the power button connectors on the MB and voila. So try disconnecting all the case interface cables besides power, and try using the reset sw for power. If your case is fine I'd pretty much bet its that CPU.

The i815 chipset will run 512MB pc-133 ram, but it has a 5 bank barrier. As soon as you hit 5banks all dimms are defaulted back to pc-100. This is definately a drawback, where memory performance is concerned.

The CUSL2 has 6 RAS lines/banks. It is only spec'd to run 4 RAS lines at 133, but can run all 6 at 100. The ASUS CUSL2 managed to get around this limitation.

whoops. Don't know why that reposted. Has anyone ever benched 5+ banks to verify it's running at 133? would be a good thing to know that the cusl2 can run all banks at top speed 🙂

Mine will run all 3 slots at full speed too, and there are plenty of others here who have done it on the CUSL2.

I made an CUSL-2 system and had to many problems with IRQ and DMA conflicts. I almost gave up. Finally I had to do it manual and assign each one. On auto there were conflicts. Also when I set the PNP (OS) on yes, had conflicts also. By the way I was using Win95 that it could be the problem, but I wont buy a CUSL any more.:Q

Almost any system board can give you IRQ conflict problems...
It's just how you handle it. If you have a ton of add-on junk,
it'll take longer to solve.

BoogieNights, why don't you test 1 item at time on a DIFFERENT
setup to POSTIVELY identify the problem instead of guessing.
You said everything works -- and might be CPU...is your overclock?
Don't oc it, and run it normal at 133.

There are lot of happy and angry CUSL2 users...I don't think it
is the best product, (the 440BX was the best ever in reliability)
but it works (read and don't rush to judgement).

good luck.
