Will a new batch of coolers come out for the Core i7 processors or will the current ones work just fine?

I think the mounting mechanism / spacing is different so either you need an adapter or a compatible HSF.

the spacing on the holes for the push pins/bolts is larger on LGA1366 than on 775. if your CPU coolers base is big enough to fully cover the whole LGA1366 IHS you will still need a new mounting mechanism for your cooler. the TRUE is supposed to have one sometime soon if it isnt out somewhere already. thermaltake also has their V1 for sale in LGA1366 variant.

i wonder if they'll have an adapter for S1283/Vendetta2 lines. hope these are big enough to cover the 1366 surface area.

even though they are, i dont think they will be nearly as good, since they will only just barely do it. the S-1284 and the sunbeam core contact freezer are both HDT and have an extra pipe, which will probably be beneficial to the design of i7
