Some commercial banks will not exchange foreign currency.

Which bank is it (I deal in foreign currency)?
What currency and how much?
Are you buying or selling foreign currency?
Do you have an account with a retail bank (Bank of America, CitiBank, etc.)?

I just have a few bucks (10-20) left over in Deutch Marks and also in French Francs. Ill just keep them if it turns out to be a hassle to change em.

I have an account at both Wells Fargo and Cal Fed, my roommate has accounts at Bank of America and Washington Mutual.

Thanks for any info.

I would recommend going to a main branch (not an instore) and they should easily buy back your DEM (Deutsche Marks).

Today's retail buy back rate is around 0.4056, your bank will probably call their "Bank Notes" department who will quote them a buy back rate and within a few seconds you'll walk out of there with boring green American mulah.

Hope this helps.

azztec - No problemo, glad to help. Were you able to sell your extra $20 DEM to your bank?
