Will Cingular honor a $50 rebate on a phone I paid $0 for?

Suppose that I sign up for a wireless plan on Cingular's website, and pick a phone that is free. Then I find this rebate for $50 on another website. Do you think that they'll send me the money if I send the rebate in? I'm assuming the packing slip will show that my cost was zero on the phone. I would rather not spend the time if there's no chance of getting anything back. Thanks for your responses.

It appears to be an official cingular rebate, and thus you should get it even if you order it right from them. You have to get one of those 3 phones though.

I got the rebate from letstalk.com, so I think it's official. And I ordered the Siemens s56, which is listed on the rebate. I think I'll try it when my phone comes and see what happens (10-12 weeks later).

It says "Offer valid while supplies last and and is not valid with any other Cingular promotional offer". Since the Cingular website says "Special Online Only Offer", I don't think you will get it.

I don't see why not. We give away $100-200.00 phones at my working place and they have $50-100.00 mail in rebates on them. Meaning, the customer scores $100.00 for free just for signing up.
