My mom & dad just bought an '08 Trailblazer, and my mom is trying to decide what to do with her CDs. She doesn't have many, but does have a few more than the 6 that will fit in the head unit.

My first thought was an MP3 player, but I looked at the head unit yesterday and didn't see an auxiliary input anywhere. I looked in the manual, and it said *one* of the OEM head units would play MP3s, but didn't say or show which one, that I saw. I burned a CD of some MP3s and AAC files with the intention of testing it, but then I forgot to grab it when I left :p So I was wondering if anyone here might know. Any ideas?

Aftermarket headunits are fairly cheap and not too difficult to install, shops often offer free installation if you buy a headunit at their store. you'd have to really search to find a head unit that didn't play mp3's now, most will have connections for an iPod. There's a chance an aftermarket stereo will sound better than the factory unit too.

Ultimately I have to ask myself, how hard is it to carry a CD wallet and change the CD once in a while. That's what everybody did 5 years ago and we thought it was the best way to listen to music.
