im getting a laptop for buisiness. a dell. i mainly need battery life. will the integrated graphics chip (inspiron 500 m) use less power than the video card of the 600m? (inspiron 600m)

p.s those are canadian prices just in u were wondering why they were so high.

The 600m has a Radeon 9000, which is a pretty high end card and it will consume considerably more power than the 500m's integrated graphics. But it will also look and run better, even if you won't be playing games.

I beg to differ.

I hav a 11mb built in graphics card on my laptop. It runs fast in everything but games. The look if PERFECTLY fine for apps and browsing. No lag what so ever. In games thats a different matter.

The Radeon 9000 will use nearly as much power as the integrated graphics set. Remember that it will only use more power when you are playing games. But if you don't it won't and so it will save battery time. You are better off with the 600m.
