Will C2-800 (8x100) or C2-733 (11x66) be the sweetheart Celeron 1.1gHz overclock?

If Intel brings out he 800 Celeron at 8x100fsb then would you consider it a better overclocker than a c2-666?

c2-800 = 8x133fsb = 1.1gHz
c2-733 = 11x100fsb = 1.1gHz

While the 100fsb of the 733 won't run as hot as the 133fsb of the 800, will the simple higher fsb weigh in on your opinion?

Overclocking the Celeron is dead!?! BX owners should be ashamed of themselves!

I like Durons and all, but Celerons are the legacy of overclocking.

Personally, I don't think that either possibility is realistic- how many do you now see that are hittin 1 ghz. Best bet would be on a 8X100- by the time that's available it'll will actually be a PIII masquerading as the "new" Celeron

That sky-high multiplier and my belief that Intel is really pushing the binning of their processor leads me to believe that you WILL NOT get much successful overclocking with the 800Mhz C2.

Maybe I'm sleepy, but 10 x 66.7 MHz = 667 MHz. Bumping that to 100MHz is 1.0 GHz.

Anyway, I have my retail C2-633 @ 950 at home on a cool 1.65V thanks to my GOrb.

I know that the duron performs way better than the celeron II, but I just happened to have a rock solid Asus P2B-F BX board in my computer. I did not want to buy a new motherboard and a Duron, because I trust my BX board more than any VIA motherboard and besides AGPx4 and ATA100 is fine technologies but wont give any performance boost.

So I decided to buy a Celeron II 566 and overclocked it to 850 mhz. This way my computer is still fast enough for gaming and I can wait till the second generation of DDR boards and upgrade again ;-)

It's just a fact that BX is the fastest board around!

If I had more money I would have bought a P3-700 and overclocked it to 933 mhz. But my budget is just very tight these days.

I just can't believe I've had my BH6 for 2 years and it's still in the game. Where was my 486 mobo after 2 years?! I coulden't give it away. This BX mobo and the origional 64mb or ram I got have been the best computer investment I've ever made. Heck the ram in this system is still selling for more than I payed for it. Anyone remeber 128mb of ram for $70 *lol* Sure I've upgraded the video, ram, hard drive, and cpu's but I haven't come to the end of the line. I have a feeling this is the last cpu this workhorse will see but man.. what a run! Long live the BX and long live the Celeron 1 and 2!
