Oh I see by stating the facts that the MLB during his era barred minorties thats racist? Despite the facts that since Jackie Robinson the most dominate players have been minorities. I see, it hurts your feelings huh. Next you'll tell me Marciano was the geratest heavy weight boxer of all time next. Grow up, just grow up. Race is a big part of life and history. So just grow up.

So you're essentially admitting you're a racist? Hmmm . . .

That still doesn't vitiate the fact that Ruth's records stood for decades and decades (leaving aside, for the time being, his amazing pitching performances), nor does it have anything whatsoever to do with the fact that Barry Bonds' extraordinary performance over the past several years was due to his drug use. His father was washed up at 36, yet he keeps getting bigger and better into his 40s . . .

To discuss race and acknowledge race has been a deciding factor in things of life doesn't make one racist. And your points on Bonds are stupid. How do you explain Clemens and Randy Johnson then. Idiot.

Seems possible to me that Clemens and Johnson have used drugs to make themselves dominant at an old age; if and when there is evidence of it then I'll boo these guys just like I boo Bonds. Sorry Classy, but your history of trolling w.r.t. race arguments causes you to lose a little bit of credibility here.

Roger Clemens was mentioned by Jose Canseco, maybe you missed that. As for trolling, if I was white and joined in with the history of fun that occurs here when trashing blacks, you would have me on your buddy list. So many of guys hate that a black guy is out spoken, won't buy into your complete superiority complex, and you can't take it. So stfu. And I am done on this subject. No matter how slice it or debate it, Ruth played against inferior talent. And he himself is an inferior player compared to Bonds. Bonds may be a real bad guy as a person, but on the field he stands alone at the top. Not about race, but greatness. Done debating, cya and wouldn't wanna be ya 😛

I really don't give a crap about the fact that Bonds is black. I have no love for McGuire or anyone else who cheated at the game. And when I said evidence, I meant more than what Canseco has said. Lots of people have speculated that it is more than Clemens' workout routine that has kept him at the top. The fact is, I don't like players who cheat. It has NOTHING to do with the fact that he is black. Give it a rest already.

LOL, I pretty much have to agree with you there...sad what this world has come to 🙁

Do you believe Barry Bonds is innocent, or what? I don't see the relevance of Clemens or Johnson (except to the extent Clemens has also been accused of using steroids).

I don't love being called an idiot, but then again I have to consider the source . . .

The Clemens/Johnson argument is tired and worn out. Comparing them to position players is apples and oranges.

There is precedent for pitchers, including power pitchers, to be highly successful past 40. Pitching isn't as heavily dependent on reaction and explosive speed as batting is. Athletes start losing their ability to generate speed by their mid 30's. Reference the pure speed/power events like sprinting and olympic lifting, there are no 40 year old champions there.

And neither Clemens nor Johnson was throwing as hard at 40 as they were at 30.

Batters don't have that kind of track record in their old age. Bonds put up the greatest 4-year offensive stretch in the history of the game at the ludicrous age of 36-39, better than everybody else, including himself, could do in their normal prime years. Add in all the Balco evidence and you clearly have a guy who's benefitting from hormone (supra)replacement therapy.

Bonds is a cheater. I think deep down even he doesn't want to break the records but he has no choice but to keep playing. Otherwise, he risks admitting his guilt by default.

It amazes me the lengths at which the fanboi's will go to in order to keep Bonds up on a pedestal. Bonds doesnt deserve it, but you guys will continue to protect and defend him...whatever. It's sad really, as fans we have the power to take our money and go elsewhere whenever a scandal like doping, or gambling, or whatever happens. But by not doing so we perpetuate the fall of professional sports. Maybe thats a good thing? hhmmmmm...

I would love to see all the other teams out there walk him until he retires. That would bring back some respect to a game that really needs it.
