A bunch of my friends and I are going to Toronto over spring break. I'd like some suggestions as to good places to eat, good bars to go to, good things to see, etc. So far we're thinking of visiting the CN Tower and Chinatown. I noticed that there is going to be a St. Patty's Day parade this Sunday too. Any ideas as to just what are the best reasonably priced things for a bunch of Midwestern college students to do/see in this city? Thanks!😀

Dance club or pub style?

I'm more of a pub guy, but some of the lady friends going with me want to go clubbing. So, in answer to your question, both.

You have to check out Ye Olde Brunswick House (the Brunny). As for dance clubs, any of the clubs along the Richmond strip would be fine, although i'll leave the specific recommendations to eakers as I imagine she goes clubbing more than I do. 🙂

Eat a place called... "Le Marche".. aka... Movenpick.

Restaurant experience like no other. 🙂

Thanks for the responses guys. Keep them rolling in. I have a nice long train ride to Toronto to talk them over with my fellow travellers.

It helps that it is in one of the nicest buildings in Toronto. (BCE Place)

BTW, if you haven't already done so, check out Toronto.com.

Tons of great info about the city.

Yeah, I've been browsing through there for a while. They have a ton of info - almost too much though🙂 I'm looking for the city in a nutshell. We don't plan on having this planned out to the T. Rather, we're taking it relatively easy. I'm bringing my laptop to the hotel with me (apparently they have network connections in the rooms). So, we can plan out the next days activities the night before. Not bad for a trip that's running less than $400, including planned spending money, transportation, and lodging at a 4 star hotel.

To my understanding, it's a castle that some guy built to fulfill his childhood dreams. Supposed to be quite cool to go to.

Casa Loma

If you've seen the X-Men movie, most of the scenes at Professor X's mansion were filmed at Casa Loma. 😎

no dont go to movenpics

its such a scam, it seems like a buffet but you have to pay for everything seperate at the end so you eat so much cos the food is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOD and then you get raped for your bill, they even add in 15% tip automatically.

Don't get me wrong, I go there all the time and get take out. (10% off the price and no mandatory tip for take-out 😀)

It's good food, but I wouldn't exactly call it gourmet. kat is right whe she says it's a huge rip-off for certain things.
