I just picked up a brand new ati radeon 9000 pro for $35. I didn't think whether or not it had 4x support on it though. Does anyone out there know if it does? I've found one review of it with specs and it said it was 8x. I couldn't find anywhere else where it said if it would work.

The Radeon 9000 Pro is an AGP 4x card. Radeon 9200 cards and upwards are AGP 8x.

Really...That's odd. I looked at a review on cnet and it said it was 8x. Ah well, thanks for the reply. Off to install it now.

ATI can be blamed for this confusion..... they badge the card as AGP 8x compatible which is true, but so are most other AGP 4x cards.
The card itself only goes up to AGP 4x transfer rates (spec page)..... the new Radeon 9200 is basically the same but with a few small changes and proper AGP 8x support.

yea where, for 35 bucks thats a steel, near radeon 8500 performance for less then half the price. Could you tell us where you bought it, i would probably go pick up 3 of em. And yea, radeon 9000 pro 128 will work jsut fine in an agp 4X slot.

I didn't get it from a store. I got it brand new from a buddy for that dirt cheap price. It would be madness to sell them that cheap anywhere. And thanks again vss 1980. I love this card. It's a big improvement from my ati radeon 7000.
