Will AthlonXP even run on ABIT KT7A RAID?

I understand that ABIT has not provided (and is not planning on providing?) a BIOS update for the KT7A series of motherboards (below rev 1.3) to recognize the new AthlonXP CPUs.

However, will AthlonXP even run on a pre 1.3 KT7A with rev. 4A bios? I don?t care whether or not the chip is properly recognized ? as long as it boots and runs at or near its correct frequency (I?m interested in putting an XP on my KT7A board mainly because of lower heat emission)

Is this possible? Or will the system simply refuse to boot?

Thnax Sorgon2 I was interesting to read something about it.
I got ABIT KT7A-RAID ver. 1.1
Well,seems like Im stuck with the Thunderbird 1.4 Ghz. Guess the Athlon XP will be on my next new system.
