oh , k

thanks guys. cuz the "ata66" cable is $12 (cdn) while the 100 was $19...
rip offs i tell ya! 🙂

thanks again

There are 80wire ATA cables, these work for any mode up to and including ATA100.
There are 40wire ATA cables, these work only up to ATA33.

Are you sure that's not the two different cables? There is no difference in ATA66vsATA100 cables...someone's trying to rip you if they are trying to sell an "ATA100" cable at a higher price than an ATA66.

Noriaki: i double checked the pricing again at ncix.com and yes they are charging more for the "ata100" cable. they advertised as such:

5910 40/80 PIN ATA100 IDE CABLE 3 HEADS Yes $ 19 ORDER
5180 40/80 PIN ATA66 IDE CABLE 3 HEADS Yes $ 12 ORDER

looks BS to me. i'll get the ata66 ones.

thanks again

Maybe one is longer than the other? That's the only explanation I can think of. But they still suck for posting crap,

Yeah me to....40pin/80wire cables are ATA66 or ATA100...I use the same cables for my ATA100 IBM 75GXP on Promise Ultra as I used for my old harddrive for ATA66 on my Mobo's controller.

$19 Canadian for an ATA66/100 cable? Are those cables made of gold or something cause that's the only reason I can think of for them charging so much or you're buying them from Future Shop 🙂 I pick up my ATA66/100 cables at a local mom/pop shop here and it only costs me $5 CDN, so somebody's making some big profits 🙂
