will arctic silver 5 make a difference

If I use the Arctic Silver 5 instead of stock paste on with the arctic cooler (version 2), will I get better overclock?

Well, it's debatible (sp?). If ya got some use it. If ya don't, well I wouldn't let it hold me back.

The only way it can help your OC is if it helps lower your cpu temp. Too much heat leads to instability. But, it's not gonna help much more than a few degrees at best. Prolly of more immediate help is cleaning out any dust bunnies in the heatsink fins 😉

Many different things affect the final result. It depends on what the bottle-neck is.
As an example, if there is an object in the way holding the heatsink tilted so that it does not make perfect contact with the GPU, probably you will not see an improvement.
This is an old comparison of AS5 and some other compounds.

I heard the stock paste aren't very good.
take the Artic Silver. It doesn't cost much and will definately bring the temps down.
Do not guarantee better overclocking of course.
