Will any PCI adaptor work with SMC wireless PC Card?

Does anyone know whether the PC Card -> PCI adaptors are generic or are they manufacturer-specific?

I'm using an SMC2632W wireless LAN card (SMC web site) with the SMC access point. The setup works well with my laptop; now I need to set up a desktop system as well.

I've seen adaptors like the Linksys WDT11 (Linksys web site). They, of course, advertise its use with a Linksys network card. Anyone know if it will work with other vendors like SMC?

I saw the specs on the LinkSys. It complies with the IEEE 802.11 specs. And the SMC is IEEE 802.11 compatible. So, the LinkSys should be interchangeable with the SMC. Also, if you are strapped for cash, I would consider looking into getting a PC Card "drive" for your Desktop. This way, you can move your PC Card around depending on where you needed it.
