More seriously, rock seems to be dead as a cultural phenomena. There's some quality niche genres, but not much is happening with mass appeal.

John Mayer has potential too, that guy can play guitar.
Then again, the definition of 'rock god' is fluid and subject to personal preference.
20 years ago is not very long, and I doubt many people in 1995 were thought of as Rock & Roll Gods.
The whole term is a bit ridiculous to begin with to begin with.
Probably more appropriate to 40-60 years ago.
I'm talking the last 20 years of course. I can't stand today's music except for the odd gem here and there. Back in my day it was all gems.

I'm not sure that there are bands out there that will be Icons of Rock right now, but there are good ones out there.

I really try to avoid the pop music stations but sometimes have to listen to it at work or just casually in other places but i can't say for sure that i've ever heard one of his songs.Bieber for sure
