Will another 512 Mb Ram make a BIG difference?

Not a HUGE difference. If you use Photoshop or other mem intensive programs you'll see a diff. Windows will load quicker. With mem as cheap as it is now, go for it.

And all the other regular stuff.

Then you will notice a big diff in the Photoshop stuff. Load times will be reduced and you will have better performance when working with large images and complex filters.
