Will Android and/or iOS ever get office apps?

Tablets are for casual use mainly, but could office apps ever be adapted to suit that platform? If this ever could be done, then wouldn't the demand for more traditional personal computers fall (such as IBM clones, Macs, etc.)? Would this necessarily be a bad thing?

There are office apps on both sides. Several options actually.

Did you even research before you asked this question as google will tell you where to find them.

Apple wants to move their entire MacBook line to ARM eventually, so even today's office apps will need beefing up to hold their own against normal desktop office programs.

???? Already are available. Somebody should do a little research before posting.

I guess what OP is saying- "What if we could have the REAL MS Office on tablets?" No matter what, all alternatives fail when saving/opening funky Office files. The only thing 100% compatible with MS Office is MS Office, so if you need to be compatible for work a tablet doesn't cut it for you.

MS already has Office running on ARM, so the potential is there, but I NEVER see them releasing it to another non-MS dominated platform. Only reason OSX gets Office is because MS doesn't see OSX as a legitimate threat, but they are behind in the Tablet market and an iPad + its MS Office could spell an end to the company's dominance of the IT field.

There is little to stop MS from developing and adapting IBM clone Windows to a tablet platform. If anything, they need to do this, since Windows is by far their best selling product. IBM clones will be around for some time, but smartphones and tablets are the growth platforms, IBM clones are in maturity. MS could get left behind, and I won't shed a tear, since apart from MS Office and Exchange, and maybe Windows 7, I don't think I've ever truly liked a product they've made.:D
