Will an xp 2000 run in an ECS K7VZA

I can't find anything saying this is possible, but that doesn't mean it's not. Has, or is, anyone ran this type of setup ?

Thanks in advance.

I have run an XP 1700 and 2100+ in that exact model... depends on revision. Is your Motherboard golden.yellow or is it black? PCB

so yes

But version 1.0 and 2.0 dont if I recall correctly, it HAS to be 3.0, so no if you have 1.0 or 2.0

Gold = screwed
black = golden (it will work

oops, i missed note 3 which says

K7VZA PCB V3.0 shipment starting from week 40 can support Athlon XP CPU which was available on Oct 11, 2001 (week 41).
so yeah, what dxkj said

Wow, I must be in the wrong forum! Here I thought I was browsing the verbal vomit that is Off Topic, but instead I must have stumbled into the motherboard forum. Sorry everybody!

It needs to be a v3.x revision mainboard, AND the processor needs to be a Palomino. No Thoroughbreds on this old board.

Actually Thoroughbreds work fine on it, as long as its 3.0 or later.... with up to date bios.

Did you try? That'd be better news than what the offical list from ECS says.

Excellent! Then the fastest available CPU in there should be a 2400+ Tbred-B. Theoretically it's the 133 MHz bus 2600+ Tbred-B, but this is nowhere to be seen anymore.
