Will an USB sound processor get rid of static?

Is this going into a car?

If so, the the cheapest way is to put a bit of wire from the casing of the laptop to the ground of the car. This should cut out a lot of noise 🙂

it's going to be a house jukebox...but i'm thinking of putting it into the car too now...its a 3lb laptop so its easy to move.....
So grounding it should help? Like when the computer is idle the static is low but noticeable and when the harddrive is being used, the more the louder the static.

I have found that if there is a ground difference between the laptop/pc and audio equipment, then it will introduce noise. So, a wire between the casing of the laptop/PC and the common ground point of the rest of your audio equipment should cut down the noise.

Even if it doesn't, it's free to try, but if it works, could save you some money 😉
