Will an R280x play well with my build? Any bottlenecks?

I have been doing small incremental upgrades over the years, and the video card is starting to show it's age. I am liking the prices on those new 280x cards but I am not sure if my PSU and CPU are adequate.

Specs:
-i7 950 at 4ghz. 1.275 vcore and Hyper 212+ cooler. I am not comfortable OCing any further as I am already at sub 75 degree temps full load.
-OCZ ModXtream 500w. I am worried that with my OC it will not provide enough power.

Other specs:
-P6X58D Premium.
-12 GB (6x2GB) Ram at 1600 mhz.
-Samsung 840 Pro 128.
-WD Blue 7200 1TB Drive.
-One optical drive.
-HD 6850.
-4 120mm case fans.

Any advice appreaciated. Looking to be able to play games for next couple of years at 1080p with at least high settings and 50-60fps.

1) I doubt you'll see any bottlenecks if you have that i7 overclocked.
2) Your PSU has more than enough power for your build, so don't worry about that. :p
3)At what price you're getting the 280x for? A HD 7970 GE has nearly the exact performance for usually a lower price.

If games keep progressing at the rate they are now, you should have a few years of smooth gameplay with high settings @1080p. Hopefully :D

Thanks for the help. I am getting it for the standard 300. I realize that the GE cards have the never settle bundle but I either have the games or am not interested in them. If I find a really good deal on one next week maybe I will go that route. Either way, I am glad that I don't have to make any other upgrades for now.

No prob :D

For some reason, I can't find a single 7970 GE under $300. That means that the 280x is the better deal in your situation. :p

The MSI Twinfrozr 280x looks like a great cooler.
