Will an HP burner do overburn?

I have the HP Surestore 9310i (10/4/32). Does anybody know if I can overburn using this drive, or where I can find out?

My friend has an older HP (4x) and it overburns in a limited fashion. It has trouble doing much above 78 minutes, and it only likes to do it on certain brands of CDs. If you have trouble, try buying some good name brand disks like Imation and see if it will work.
