Will an Athlon XP 1800+/266 FSB CPU work on a KT7A?

I want to buy an Athlon XP 1800 CPU for my brother's Abit KT7A. Will it work on the KT7A? I am also getting him a Ti4400, and I want a fairly good CPU to go with it. If this processor will not work what is the best one that will work?

Can I unlock the Athlon XP 1800 with a pencil, like I did on old AMDs?
