Will an Asus s370-D Slocket work with my celeron 566??

Its a fcpga. i bought this slocket today and i'm kinda iffy on whether i bought the right one now. i don't want to open it. small computer stores are iffy on returns you know

it used to use my other slocket which is now fitted with a tualatin.



anyone know?

As long as its FC-PGA it will support the Celeron 566. I was using an old generic brandless FC-PGA Slotket and it worked perfectly...recently switched to an Abit Slotket III, works fine also.

hmm, guess i'll have to return it doesn't say a thing about fc pga at all.

does the slocket need voltage adjustment? can't i just do that by motherboard settings?

Yup, it seems that you confirmed that your ASUS Slotket won't work. According to this website your s370-d is only PPGA capable while the s370-dl will do FC-PGA and is dual-CPU capable as well.

The asus s370 adaptor and the -L and -D models are for ppga cpus only. Celerons to 533 in ppga format.

You need the 370-133 model for fcpga. They are hard to find and worth more now than when they came out.
