Will an Asus P2B (440bx) support a PII 400 Xeon?

No. Pentium II XEONs use the much larger Slot 2 interface, so it won't fit on the Slot 1 P2B.

Thanks for the replies! I have a "Super Slocket III" converter which says that it will allow me to install a Socket 370 CPU in a Slot 1 mobo. Is this compatible with the Asus P2B or should I stick with PII Slot 1 Cpus?

I'd flash your bios on the P2b first to the latest one. If you have a regular Super Slotket III, then you can pretty much put in any Socket Pentium III proc. You need to stick to 100 FSB Pentium III procs. Either that or you can stick in a Celeron (1100 is the max), but they are generally slower than Pentium III procs, especially for CPU intensive apps.

If you want to run a Tualatin, you either have to get a http://www.PowerLeap.com adapter or a http://www.Upgradeware.com Adapter. A 1.4 Ghz Tualatin Celeron is the fastest you will be able to do.

Yes, SECC, SECC2 and SEPP are all interchangeable.

SECC = early Pentium II, SECC2 = very late Pentium II and all Slot 1 Pentium III, SEPP = Slot 1 Celerons.
