Will an Alpha PAL8045t fit on an Abit KT7A?

I hate to post this because I'm just as sick of reading all those heatsink threads as every one else is. I want to upgrade to a 1.4gig Thunderbird from a 1gig and don't want it to fry under my puny heatsink that I'm using now.

Here's a pic of the cooler from Sidewindercomputer's website

Alpha PAL8045t

The info on Alpha's website HERE shows that there is 13.8 mm of heatsink from the middle of the lower heatsink mounting lugs to the bottom of the heatsink. Just from a glance in my case it is going to be a tight fit near the bottom of the heatsink. It is going to be difficult to measure without removing the heatsink and the motherboard from my case. Is anyone using this monster on their board?

I did a search of the forums and did not turn up anything. I saw one review of this cooler that mentioned that they used the KT7 to test the heatsink, but they had no pics posted of the heatsink mounted on the board. I plan to use this cooler with a 92 mm fan for good but not too loud cooling.

Thanks

Here's a helpful link: Alpha's own fit list, which shows that it fits with no problems. A Panaflo L1A 92mm fan on an adapter would be a nice quiet setup, or even a Panaflo M1A 80mm fan.

Thanks mechBgon, I knew I should have dug around a little bit more on Alpha's website. It's assame I don't have a v1.3 or higher of the KT7A, or I could go with a nice XP and give my computer even more life. I guess this will have to hold me until hammer is out and all the bugs are worked out of it:).

I want to viahardware's forums and did a search for all threads with kt7a in the title. It seems that the vast majority of the people with boards v1.0 - 1.2 have had no problem using the XP's. Some mentioned that the board was unable to automatically detect the processor speed, and had to set it manually in the bios. Heck, that's what I do with my unlocked thunderbird, maybe it will be worth the gamble to try an XP.:D
I'll make sure to buy it from a good dealer that I can return it too if it doesn't work. Wish me luck!;)
