yea but this is not just the HT. the voltages are changed, the PCI-e frequency and voltages are increased (more bandwith) and everything is just overclocked, but to nvidia specs so you dont have to worry about anything.

It will be slightly more for AM2 than s939, if you go by the MSRPs for each CPU. Premium mobos will probably cost around the same for both, 150 to 200ish range. Value and mainstream boards will be priced lower tho.

...

they are going to be more expensive... what do you think something new comes out thats better then the old stuff (not that much but still better) and its gonna cost the same? not likely! but where talking peanuts anyways, when the A8N32 came out it was 260 CDN, I bet the M2N32 will be 265 max.

The M2N32-SLI Deluxe is going to be Asus's flagship motherboard. Do you expect it to be cheap? :p

Figure 200 to 250 USD.

TG: One thing that enthusiast overclocker's enjoy is having the ability to tweak -all- available settings in the BIOS relating to their CPU and memory. While EPP consolidates all of these options into a single one, do you believe that any enthusiast overclocker's will ever have a need for EPP?

JB: I don?t believe experienced overclocker's will ever have a need for EPP... but I think they will certainly have a use for it. It is capable of providing a good ?base camp? for ascending the difficult summit of an aggressive overclock. It also provides a guideline about how we were able to achieve aggressive performance.

I'm in the opposite boat. I'm hoping the AM2 launch will lower S939 dual cores so I can buy a cheap x2 3800+ or opteron 165.

People like me could give a didly squat right now. My current rig is good to handle every app and game out there. Though, I may not have a system to get me bragging rights, but it sure does what I want it to do.....
My point is that people like me dont care when conroe launches. July, September or Jan 08.... i dont plan to upgrade until Summer 08 so meh....

But I will say... The way things are looking.... CONROE it will Be.

Yeah I think im gonna go with a s939 now. The FX-62 is stock 1.4v just to achieve 2.8ghz what a joke.

????? of course 95% of the people here on AT will never get an FX unless it is handed to them for free.

just hold on for like a week, and see if AM2 is even worth getting. maybe prices will drop for skt939 or they may even stay the same. it'll take some time. man, are you impatient. i had to wait almost 7 years to build my current rig, so just hang on tight.

Damn I kinda want an X2 4000+ and M2N32 SLi Deluxe but with the mobo being 249 and ram being near 300 for EPP i think the opty 170 is lookin better and better.

It's been at Monarch for awhile already

Same pricing as was expected in previews.

Lousy Mobo selection though :( M2N32 only available through combos.

I'm going to go ahead and route the necessary funds to my spending account now though, so I'm ready when Newegg has them.

Its price is rather steep for a motherboard, but it does have integrated WiFi, which is going to cost you another 50 USD if you go with a mobo that doesn't have WiFi. Still, I may give a good long look at MSI's K9N Diamond.

I like it also because it looks to save a PCI slot that I would use on the card. And I use wireless alot.
