I'm thinking about going with this ASUS motherboard:http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Z97MPLUS/
That is likely as close as you're going official word on Broadwell support currently...LGA1150 socket for the 4th, New 4th & 5th Generation Intel®
Core i7/ Core i5 / Core i3, Pentium®, and Celeron® processors
An interesting titbit is that if you look in the manual for ASUS's Z97 boards, it says:
That is likely as close as you're going official word on Broadwell support currently...
It depends on the mobo maker. Z87 can be broadwell compatible too for example.
I thought that z87 would not be compatible with Broadwell because of the chip having a different number of pins or something.
So the z87 & z97 would be compatible with Haswell & Haswell Refresh, but Broadwell would be limited to z97 and whatever new chipset comes out for it.
