Will all this be compatible and reliable?

I am looking to build a reliable and totally compatible rig, but am struggling to choose the parts as there is so much choice. All i know is that i am going for the AMD 3000 or 3200 socket 939 CPU.

Ram - Do i get that much extra bang for my buck say if i went for two 512 sticks of GEIL Value, in comparison to the same amount of OCZ, Crucial Ballistix, or Corsair's top stuff (at twice the cost)?

Considering that i am a relative beginner, this is what i have chosen so far within budget - please suggest changes to areas in brands and type if you think there are negatives.:

Asus A8N-SLi Deluxe nForce4 SLi (Socket 939) PCI-Express Motherboard (MB-087-AS)
£104.95 £104.95
Is this the best nforce 4 chipset?

AMD Athlon 64 3000+ Winchester 90nm (Socket 939) - Retail (CP-096-AM) (CP-096-AM)
£99.95 £99.95
Is this CPU ok for the Mobo?

GeIL 1GB (2x512MB) PC3200 Value Dual Channel Kit CAS2.5 (GE1GB3200BHDC) (MY-005-GL)
- Will this ram work well with the mobo - proven?
£79.95 £79.95

Hyundai ImageQuest Q770S 17'' Perfectly Flat CRT Monitor - Black/Silver (MO-006-HY)
£74.95 £74.95
Silly question perhaps, but will a CRT be compatible with my other more modern options?

XFX GeForce PCX6600 GT 128MB DDR3 TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (PVT43GNDF7) (GX-023-XF)
£114.95 £114.95
Are XFX graphics cards up there or is there a better brand, same version, at a similar price?

Antec Super LANBOY Aluminum Super Mini Tower Case - No PSU (CA-012-AN)
£49.95 £49.95
Any issues with this case? Will the parts fit ok?

Sony DWU-22A 16x DVD±RW Dual Layer ReWriter (Silver) - OEM (CD-034-SO)
£34.95 £34.95

Akasa Ultra Quiet 400W Paxmate Version 2 ATX2.0 PSU (CA-012-AK) is this PSU compatible?
£35.95 £35.95

Western Digital Caviar Special Edition 200GB 2000JD SATA 8MB Cache - OEM (HD-013-WD)
£64.50 £64.50 Is the western digital the best hard disk solution?

Cart from www.overclockers.co.uk

Any help is appreciated, especially any compatibility/quality issues. Thanks

"Akasa Ultra Quiet 400W Paxmate Version 2 ATX2.0 PSU (CA-012-AK)
£35.95 £35.95"

I say look into PSU's from Antec, Enermax, OCZ, etc.

Take the value RAM even if overclocking (if in doubt about compatibility, try Corsair Value). Running a divider has no adverse affect on performance. (See 939 Memory Matrix, CPU/OC forum.)
Dump the SLI board for an NF4 Ultra-based one. Wait a little while for more selection if need be.
Try the NEC 3500/3520 DVD burner if you can for a good price.
Get rid of that PSU and get something like an Antec True430.
WD is fine, though many around here prefer Seagate.
A CRT will most definitely be compatible with what you're using--even if the video card is dual DVI, it should come with a DVI-to-VGA adapter.

Thanks alot.

Is that GeIL 1GB (2x512MB) PC3200 Value Dual Channel Kit CAS2.5 (GE1GB3200BHDC) (MY-005-GL) of for a nforce4 mobo? Will it have the right pins and is PC3200 fine?

Also, will a cheaper graphics card be able to run on an nforce 4 mobo? Say a cheaper nvidia/radeon PCI-expresss slot one than the xfx one chosen?

Is it worth minimising other components while getting a better motherboard like the nforce4 which allows for more future upgrade? IS that correct?

I think everything looks fine, but agree with other guy on going name brand PSU, or at least finding out if that PSU is any good in other forums.

Thanks. Is it always necessary to follow the vendors reccomendations on ram? For example, Asus for the the A8N nForce4 really only suggest Kingston and Corsair, and even then they give limited compatibility in some options.
