Will all p4s run with my current MB?

i have a intel D82845G ??? I mean all this P4 with higher FBUS and L3 caches etc?
I currently on a 1.8 willammette....

Your motherboard does not support 800MHz FSB Pentium 4 processors, and won't support the Pentium 4 Extreme either, since that is an 800MHz FSB processor.

You can still purchase an 800MHz FSB processor and it should work with your board, but it will only run at 533MHz FSB, meaning that your processor will only be at 2/3 of its normal speed.

wait a minute...wasn't the willamette on a 423-pin FCPGA, and the northwood on a 478-pin? which would mean there are quite a few P4s these days that wouldn't work on that mobo?

Willamettes were available as both Socket 423 and 478.

The i845 chipset was never produced with Socket 423.
