Will adding another 4GB RAM cock my overclock up?

I fell out of love with PCs a few years so when I purchased what I use now, I purchased a pre-built and overclocked system from www.overclockers.co.uk as I was behind the times on how to overclock and hadn't built a PC for a few years. I have the following:

Intel i3 530
- vcore 1.264v
- core speed 3608.5MHz
- multiplier x22.0
- Bus speed 164.0MHz
- QPI Link 2624.5MHz
Gigabyte H55M-UD2H F8 BIOS
4GB (2x2GB) Corsair XMS3 CMX4GX3M2A1600C9

It states on the overclockers website that the overclock cannot be guarenteed to be stable if you upgrade the BIOS or add more RAM. The BIOS revs since F8 are minor and do not affect me so I am not too concerned about that. I think a BIOS flash would erase my overclock and reset to defaults but I don't know for sure.

I use my PC for quite a lot these days and use Photoshop and Illustrator a lot, and given the stupid price for another 4GB...

I would just like to know if it would cock my overclock up or not.

Cheers

There is a chance, if the new RAM isn't able to handle the same speeds as the current RAM. If you buy some that is rated for the same speed and timings, you have a pretty good chance of it running either at the same or within a few percent.

Sorry I should have said. I can still buy that exact same part number RAM in a 2x2GB kit so I would buy another set of the same.

Then your overclock has a good chance of still being stable, but it can't be guaranteed. Since you bought it pre-overclocked, hopefully they left some headroom in the components to account for something like this.

occupying all 4 DIMM slots will add more of a burden to the memory controller.

it may be stable at your config, it may not. if it isnt, you can compensate by adding more vtt.
