the specs say pc2100 and pc1600 but it would just be dumb to include stuff like 64bit PCI and not have the foreseight to include pc2700 ...

PC2700 will work but not at that speed. The AMD760MPX chipset runs 266MHZ DDR ~ PC2100.

There is no official PC2700 standard yet. All the PC2400 and PC2700 you are seeing on the market is PC2100 that has been tested to run at higher speeds. The ASUS BIOS will allow you to increase the FSB to 166(333) and beyond and at 166(333) your memory would effectively be PC2700.

You might be able to overclock the A7M266-D to a 166mhz but unless Asus put in 1/5 divider your PCI and AGP speeds are going to be running way out of sink at a 166mhz.

High end boards don't feature overclocking. There is a difference in your statement and what actually is high end and low end.

<< This sucker will very possibly run two 1900's @ 166mhz fsb... (PC2700) >>

Possibly, but ONLY if they're MP chips. This board will only acknowledge ONE Athlon XP chip.

I'm trying to figure out will it either have independant adjustments in the BIOS for each processor like some of the Dual VIA boards. Let me go check the specs.

Yes Fkloster. Its rumored that it will only seek one XP and not run it Dual configuration. If it does that then the second XP is just not being utilized.
