I guess this is the right forum for this question since its about a cpu cooler. I am about to do a new build and the only cooler I have ever installed was the Arctic 7. it had no back plate and just used the simple push pins. looking at the XIGMATEK Gaia, it makes me nervous thinking about installing the back plate and having to tighten down screws.
I noticed on the back of the MSI P67A-G45 there is already some type of plate and was wondering if that would interfere with the back plate installation.
and I am a bit worried about the cooler clearing the memory since I was going to get Ripjaws X Series that have heatsinks.
I see that the Gaia comes with some type of thermal compound so should I just use that or is it worth to get something like Arctic Silver 5? my last cooler had something already pre applied.
