will a wireless router work as an access point

I need a acess point but is cheaper to buy a router. I was just wanting to know if it would work. I am looking at the D-Link DI-624. Thanks

Provided you set it correctly it will work as an Access Point with a switch.

However unlike regular AP it will work only as a Wireless Gateway.

I had a Linksys WRT54GS hooked to my BEFSR41 and it worked fine in Router or Gateway mode. It must have some self configuring because I tried my best to make it not work and it still did.
