Will a video card lost its 3d function??

I have a ATI Rage Fury Pro here

whenever i wanna play 3d games

it said 3d is not detected or no 3d is detected

i heard that 3d card can lost its 3d function and it is not under warranty

Generally when you get the no 3D detected it is because you've picked the wrong driver from within the game or program. Some older games were produced when the only 3D was an add on card such as a VooDoo1 or 2 or a Matrox D3D or whatever it was.

Have you upgraded your card's drivers?

i have upgraded the driver and i tried to use the old driver

but still cannot play any games

Hmm....a card definitly can't lose it's 3D function...that would defeat the purpose of the card. What games, specifically?

i have to config the 3d card but i can't choose any 3d card from the cinfig window

Was this after a reinstall of windows? I posted a similar question
where the pc is fine until it needs to run 3d...Trying to rule out a direct x issue or did something get hit when changing the powersupply
to a new one...If I get any info on my thread that may be helpful to you I'll let you know...
