Will a Ultra320 drive work in a Ultra 160 controller

I think I saw some people post that as long as the pins are the same, it should work. Is that true?

I think you will not get the full 320mb and will only be running at 160mb if you do go backward like that, right?

I have a 3400s Ultra 160 controller and was curious to see if a Ultra320 hard drive will work with my controller. I can't seem to find any 74gb 15k Ultra160 drives these days. All I can find are 74gb 15k Ultra320's only.

Yes.

Yes. But it's not like any single drive will push anywhere near 320MB/sec (or 160MB/sec., for that matter).

That's because they're backwards compatible. Which a search would easily have told you.
