I just want to know if I should buy a board now or wait till the new XP's come out. If the thoroughbred will work, then thats what I'll get, otherwise I might wait...but its a long wait.

Thanks in advance

Kevin

they will be the same socket, just make sure the voltage on the board will go low enough to support the new chips.

I'd wait.

Just like how some kt133a boards aren't fully compatible with XPs(early abit kt7a's one example) this may also be the case.

Thanks for the help 🙂
Sad, are you referring to the Abit KR7A-133 RAID or the KR7A RAID? I was trying to determine the difference between these two boards.

he's talking about the KT7A, not the KR7A. KT7A uses the KT133A chipset and SDRAM, KR7A uses KT266A and DDR. The KR7A-133 or whatever its called just uses ATA133 hard drives.. but ATA133 is just a ton of useless HD bandwith.. there's really no difference between ATA66/100/133 except that 133 drives cost a lot more.
