The KT333 chipset fully supports all existing SocketA processors, including the 800MHz T-Bird.

I was wondering the same thing. I've got a T-bird 800 right now, looking to get the Asus A7V KT333. As I've been pretty out of the loop for the last few months, my only other question is up to what generation of AMD processor will the KT333 support (ie. just the Palamino?)? Will the Opteron require something else?

Thanks, just needed to make sure ;)
Operton, AMD's 64 bit cpu, is very different and I don't believe it is socket A.
However throughbred will be comatible with a KT333 board. I think, hehe

The ClawHammer, and SledgeHammer (Opteron) will definitely not be compatible.
The Throughbred will almost certainly be easily compatible with a simple BIOS update, and as matters stand it's highly likely though not certain that the Barton core will also be compatible.
