Will a single-sided 256MB SDRAM DIMM work in a P-233?

I was trying to purchase a 256MB stick of SDRAM (not DDR) for my boss's original Pentium system, and the guy told me that he will need a double-sided stick for it to work. I think he's full of it and doesn't know what he's talking about but I wanted confirmation. Double sided costs over twice as much and is out of the question.

Covered in some AT FAQ and many old PC100 threads, but it is true that old LX & BX chipset mobos can only see all of a SDRAM stick if it is low density

If you want it to work, using Crucial.com's memory selector is your best option even if it does cost twice as much.
