Will a SB X-FI work on a Maximus Formula?

I just ordered a Maximus II Formula from Newegg. (P45) and this is the board that comes with the (SupremeFX X-Fi Audio Card ) which I assume Asus puts out becasue it is not a real X-FI.

Anyway, since this card works as if it were the onboard audio (onboard audio must be enabled in bios) for it to work even though it is a PCI card.

Would I be able to NOT use this card and use my Creative X-FI instead?

Sure, you can use any sound card you want using that board. I don't know if there's an option you need to disable in BIOS if you're not using the supplied sound card, but I'd check for that.
