Will a SATA Gen II HD work on a MB w/SATA Gen I Chip

I have a very reliable old Abit NF7 based PC, runs lots of games, wife does here home business on it, etc. WinXP has been on it for about 5yrs, time to clean it up and re-install WinXP. It currently has 3 old (reliable for sure!) HD's of 40Gb, 80Gb and 160Gb. WinXP is installed on the 80Gb Drive...and I'm thinking its a great time to pick up something like the Samsung Spinpoint 750Gb drive on sale at Newegg right now. ($99!)

My NF7 has a Silicon Image controller that supports SATA Gen I (150Mb/s)

Most new HD's are SATA Gen II.

Will they still work with the older controller chip? (just at the lower speed which is no big deal) or am I stuck with the few remaining Gen I drives out there?

Thanks!
