Will a retail/OEM 7800GT ever be available at a reduced cost?

I've got an SLI rig with a 7800GT and it'd sure be nice to pick up another one to mate with my existing card (not literally;)). Seems like there won't be any at a reduced price OR newer generation cards will be out with better performance and for a lower price than a single 7800GT.

Yeah, if it costs Nvidia more than other cards to make it, they're going to try and rip you off and charge you more for it than those other cards. They don't care if it makes sense or not, so long as it makes money sense.

Unlike the 7800GT...I guess board makers just made a gazillion X850XT then, cause they are available for cheap and have been for many months now.

EDIT: What the hell...my board name is NOW someone elses????

This is one of the downsides to the "buy one now, by another later for SLI/CF" idea, as prices don't always go down with the release of better, more efficient cards. I'd check out the FS/T forum or eBay as others have said.

Frankly...I was never interested in running SLI or Crossfire UNLESS the price of the second card was VERY reasonable.

Since a new 7800GT is not reasonably priced...I'll just wait until I actually need a video card upgrade and most likely I'll get a card which is faster than 7800GTs in SLI for a lower price.
