Will a regular PCI video Card work in a PCI express mobo?

I ask because I plan to build/upgrade my new system tommorow but I don't have a video card yet, (I'm waiting for either the 6800gt price to drop or the X850 to be released to more retailers). However I want to be able to make sure everything is Kosher with it, and want to get it up and running. I want to install windows, update Bios, get it customized and whatnot, and this would be quite difficult if I can't see what the hell I'm doing. So I'm just looking for a cheap card I can use for a week or 2 before the PCI express video cards become readily available.

Will this work ok with a PCI-E mobo?

wow that actually sounds like a good idea, getting a pci-card just to get the computer running . . .

now, the only price drop i have to wait for is the motherboard i want

Works fine in the right slot =P I did the same thing...using an old PCI card temporarily until I get a 6600 GT.

Same thing I'm doing, except I'm using my ghetto 9200SE until I have $400 for a 6800gt...
