Will a recovery disk fix this?

I formatted a laptop. If I get the recovery disk from the manufacturer will it restore it to like new, or does there need to be some sort of OS on the drives in order for it to repair them?

Get teh restore disk and the system will have the OS back and be like you just pulled it out of the box.

The Dell ones do OS only. YMMV on the extra apps (shit) that is preloaded. Often that stuff is on a second CD/DVD
