Will a PCI-E 2.0 card work in 1.x?

Yes it will. But I wouldn't recommend this graphics card. Better grab something like this:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-877-_-Product

Runs cooler and supports Flash 10.1 acceleration (it's not supported on HD3xxx series - only a few IGP models). And after the rebate comes back, the final price will be lower too.

EDIT:

The list was done before HD5670, HD5570 and HD5450 were released, but those 3 have the same UVD3 engine as HD57xx and HD58xx.

5xxx series AMD cards have UVD2, not 3. 68x0 cards have UVD3.

Ahh, sorry. You're right. My point still holds though. HD3xxx's UVD engine is not supported for Flash 10.1 acceleration (UVD 2+ required). Only the HD3200 IGP has an improved UVD that allows it to be utilized for the above.

Any PCIe device will work in any PCIe slot. A x128 PCIe 5.0 card will work in a x1 PCIe 1.0 slot. Note that the above theoretical card doesn't even fit into the slot, but if you cut off the back to make it fit, it will work at x1 1.0 speeds.
