Greetings:

I am about to purchase 2 sticks of 256MB SDRAM PC133 CL2 from Crucial and am wondering if it will work on a PC100 mobo. If so, will it work at CL2 or CL3. Any insight thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Not all motherboaeds
I got 3 BX mobos that will not take PC133 RAM
Depends also on the manufactorer.
Check their website to see if their 133 RAM works at 100

Thank you all for your comments and help. I will give Crucial PC133 CL2 a shot. It it doesn't work I am still be able to exchange for PC100. 🙂

Not anymore. Several manufacturers no longer make the backwards compatible stuff since it is cheaper not to.

Any PC133 memory is backward compitable to PC66.
It's the chips it used is not backward compitable on the old motherboards using old chipsets.

Crucial's PC133 memory uses traditional safe choice chips, works in any motherboards or any chipsets.
